I picked up the guitar around the age of 10 after discovering rock n roll – and have pretty much been living and breathing music ever since! I grew up in Prestwick but moved to Glasgow for my studies, and graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland last year with a degree in jazz.

Over the years I’ve gained a lot of knowledge about harmony/theory and experience applying this in live performance, having played countless function/wedding gigs and recording sessions.

 

I also enjoy the creative side of things and have been part of various originals bands including my own ‘power trio’ Rigid Soul.

I enjoy sharing knowledge, geeking out about music with students and like to encourage improvisation in lessons. I believe in the idea that music is a universal language and everyone’s lives can benefit from learning a bit about it!
